Summer Day at Stundars Open Air Museum

In the olden days, summer was the busiest season of the year, and it still is, at Stundars! A lot happens during summertime at Finland’s third largest open-air museum. There are everyday chores to take care of and handicrafts as well. The animals must be tended to. The museum has an active everyday routine and during your visit you will notice that many chores and customs from the past still play a relevant role today.

You can learn more about country-living in the past from our guided tours and mini-exhibitions. There is a guided tour specially aimed at children, based on what childhood was like in an agrarian society. There is also a guided tour centered around animal husbandry, at our animal park, which is open throughout the summer. There is also a guided tour to the Gray Village in Stundars, as well as a tour about the village becoming more influenced by the outside world.

Lyckans Café and shop is open every day. Art exhibitions in Hemmersgården, at the Stonecutter’s Cottage, and in the Animal Barn.

Open daily 24.6-15.8 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
